Tammy Harrold – Fort Wayne, IN
Tammy Harrold, FFCU’s 2009 Employee of the Year, is someone who is described as a great asset to
FFCU and to the credit union industry by having the real ‘people helping people’ attitude on
which the credit union movement is founded. She has faithfully demonstrated this since finding her calling
at FFCU in 1993 as a part-time teller who quickly blossomed into the main receptionist at the corporate
office later that same year and where she continues to make every member feel welcome, calling them by name
as they come and go.
Described by teammates as a great person to work with, always having a positive attitude
and a kind word for everyone whether member or employee, Tammy’s friendliness and unending smile make
evident that FFCU is a caring credit union. Her unfailing commitment to connecting with others keeps members
coming back, attracts new ones to come aboard, and gives so many employees a sense of pride to be serving on
the same team with her.
Her sincere benevolence is demonstrated by many, many years of participation on various committees and volunteering
countless hours towards FFCU efforts to support its patrons and communities. She can even be counted on to fill pop
coolers and prepare food sales tables for fundraisers each Friday at the corporate office before the doors open.
It is no wonder FFCU entrusts the processing of deceased member accounts to someone as genuinely caring as Tammy who
takes so much pride in handling the special needs of families and friends with sympathy, caring, and utmost respect.
In other words, Tammy Harrold truly serves from the heart in all that she does, and gives from the heart to each
person lucky enough to know her.
As Steve Collins, President & CEO presented the Award and
check for $1,500 to Tammy at the December 5th employee holiday
party, the dismay was clear on Tammy’s face as she humbly
accepted the award.
